In Loving Memory

William Samuel Kropp

William (Bill) Samuel Kropp of Vernon BC, passed away peacefully on Sunday May 14 at the age of 90 from natural causes. Bill was born May 6, 1933 in Clifford Ontario, the eldest of two children. Bill, affectionally known as Willy Sam to those close to him, was king of the one liner and a great storyteller who enjoyed getting laughs and entertaining friends and family. Bill, along with wife and three sons, moved to Vernon from Ontario in 1970 where he spent his career working in the natural gas utility sector until his retirement in 1993. During those year he developed a passion for exploring the backcountry roads in his Jeep and fishing the mountain lakes in the area.

Pre-deceased by his beloved wife of 62 years, Patricia Kropp, Bill is survived by his three sons Perry (Iris) Kropp, Paul (Laurette) Kropp, Peter Kropp, grandchildren Dawson Kropp, Trinity Taylor and sister Erna Danford.

A celebration of life with family members and close relatives is planned this summer where his ashes will be spread in the same location as Patricia’s – a special place where they went to enjoy the mountain meadows overlooking Vernon and the beautiful Okanagan valley.

    Paul, Laurette and Family,

Our Condolences are with your family at this very sad time ❤️
I hope your beautiful memories of you sweet dad flow through your mind, ease your soul and bring you peace.
Watch for the little things, like butterflies or birds flitting around you. I believe the extraordinary things like that is a sign from your dad up above watching over you.
    Sending our love,
    The Hennig’s❤️

Dave and I were blessed to be able to get to know Bill over the last few years. He was a loving, kind, generous, fun, funny, thoughtful man… a true gentleman. He truly was one in a million! Our sincerest condolences to my brothers and their families, I know you will find comfort in the wonderful memories you share. Sending our love to you all.

As a Perry in-law I feel that I can contribute a unique perspective relative to what one encounters on one’s life journey.
It is not without challenges but it is a journey well worth the effort, fortunately mine was made earlier by Bill who was a role model for me.
As Kermit the Frog said “it’s not easy being green”.
What Kermit left out was if you hang in there it’s a wonderful trip.
I’ll be forever grateful to Bill for that lesson.
Rest in peace my friend – Paul
