In Loving Memory
Jorgen “Wilmer” Ringdal
It is with profound sadness that the family of Wilmer Ringdal shares the news that he has passed after a short illness at 83 years old.
Born in Shell Lake, Saskatchewan, and raised in Burnaby and Delta, BC, Wilmer enjoyed a fulfilling career of over 35 years with BC Tel. He retired in 1996 to focus on his true passion of farming at his Clinton Road acreage where he and wife Faye (married June 30, 1962) had raised their four children, and welcomed 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Wilmer was predeceased by son Travis (1972 – 1995) and is survived by son Stewart (Sue), daughters Judi (Terry) and Sheri (John), as well as sister Gayle (Gordon) and brother Glen (Sherry). Wilmer contributed to the community that he loved with many years of service as Councillor of the Township of Spallumcheen and roles on the Larkin Water District Board. He was a man solid in his principles, a strong source of guidance to those who sought it from him (which were many), and never one to turn down a spirited political discussion. His quick wit was perhaps only over-shadowed by his love for family, which only grew more sentimental and patient over the years. Private Funeral services will see Wilmer laid to rest in the Armstrong Spallumcheen Cemetery next to son Travis. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the BC Children’s Hospital. He will be incredibly missed.
