In Loving Memory of Gregory Lorne McLean

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Gregory Lorne McLean, who left us on July 31, 2024, at the age of 63. Greg was devoted husband, an incredible father to his three daughters, a cherished father figure to his two remarkable sons-in-law, the proud grandfather of four wonderful grandchildren, and a loyal friend to a close-knit circle.

Born on July 5, 1961, Greg was a source of unwavering love and strength for his family and friends. He shared 45 years of his life with his loving wife, Dawn, building a relationship characterized by joy, laughter, and steadfast support. Their bond was a testament to the power of enduring love and commitment.

Greg was a devoted father to Tanisha (Zach), Shanelle (Justin), and Jaryn, and loving grandfather to Cooper (8), Hendrix (6), Connley (5) and Halston (2). Greg’s sister, Debbie, her sons Justin (Tara) and Jeremy as well as Sherry, Gregs sister-in-law and her children, Dane (Hope), Jayson and Taneille (Jesse) were also a cherished part of his life. He held his close friends dear to his heart, considering them family. Greg’s greatest joy came from watching his family thrive and grow, and he had a unique gift for making everyone feel special. His warm smile, infectious laughter, and sharp sense of humor will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.

Greg began his career at 17 with Riverside Forest Products and spent 46 years in road building with Tolko. His dedication to his profession was a remarkable achievement and a source of immense pride for him.

One of Greg’s favorite pastimes was gathering with family and friends around the campfire, enjoying hotdogs, sharing tequila and beer, and listening to classic music. His presence enriched the lives of everyone he encountered, and he had an exceptional talent for making others feel valued and cared for.

A celebration of Greg’s life will take place on August 30, 2024, at 1:00PM at the Whitevalley Community Centre, 2250 Shields Ave, Lumby, BC. We invite all who knew him to join us in honoring a life will-lived and sharing memories of beloved man.

Greg’s legacy of love and kindness will forever remain in our hearts.

Fly high, my love…….
