Warren Goodwin

Warren Goodwin, 82, of Vernon, British Columbia, passed away on April 30, 2026.
Born on April 13, 1944, in Exeter, Ontario, he was the son of Gilbert and Rose Goodwin. Warren grew up in Flin Flon, Manitoba, where he enjoyed canoeing and was active with the Boy Scouts. After graduating from high school, he joined the Canadian Armed Forces and spent several years in Europe, beginning a long and dedicated military career. He served proudly for 25 years in the Canadian Armed Forces, followed by a distinguished career as an aircraft avionics engineer with Kelowna Flightcraft and Air Canada.
Following his professional career, Warren found a second calling as a volunteer teacher in Cambodia. It was there that he met his Cambodian family and friends. He became a respected mentor and formed deep, lasting friendships within the community. Warren was embraced wholeheartedly by his Cambodian in-laws, who loved and cared for him deeply, treating him as a true son of the family.
Warren is survived by his wife, Sok Heng Goodwin; his sons, Robert Goodwin and Mark Goodwin; and his daughters, Dianna Rance, Sara Ewer, Mealea Goodwin, and Morakot Goodwin. He was predeceased by his son, Larry Goodwin.
He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his commitment to his family, and his generous spirit that bridged cultures and continents.
A Celebration of Life will be held at First Baptist Church (1406 32nd Avenue, Vernon, BC) on Monday, August 3, 2026 at 1:30pm.
Warren will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him in Canada, Cambodia, and beyond.

So sorry for your loss. He led quite a great life and I know he will be missed.
Warren had an international outlook from the get go as a Queen’s Scout and onward through the military and air craft maintenance. He was always going somewhere on his plane pass staying over night in someone’s home to adopting a whole new culture and family as a retiree! He had to work both the task at hand and the people that came with the job. He is probably jawboning someone as I type this. May he rest in peace.
