Ronald Richard Cawthorn

Ronald Richard Cawthorn, age 65, of Vernon, British Columbia, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2026.

Ron was born on March 2, 1961, in Calgary, Alberta. He was a quiet, loving man who cherished his family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, baseball, camping and boating. 

Ron worked for many years in the swimming pool industry, following in the footsteps of his father, Ralph. Outside of work, he spent many years playing baseball with his friends on the waddy’s  Warriors and the Ratzz teams in Vernon, creating lasting friendships and memories.

Ron will be remembered for his kind heart, gentle nature, and infectious laugh. Nothing brought a bigger smile to his face than spending time with his beloved granddaughters.

Ron is survived by his daughter, Ashley (Brendan) Simmill; his granddaughters, Grace and Madelyn; his stepdaughters, Jacki Bourassa and Jodi Litchfield; his mother, Joan Cawthorn; his brother, Bill Cawthorn (June Adams); his sister, Brenda (James) Jeffries; and his nieces and nephews, Gordon Willems, Kristen Brown, Michelle Gaudry, Jacqui Camron, and Billy Cawthorn.

Ron was predeceased by his father, Ralph Cawthorn.

A private family memorial will be held at a later date.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Gateby Living for the compassionate care and support they provided to Ron throughout his health challenges.

Though he will be deeply missed, it brings comfort to know that he is no longer suffering and is now at peace.
