In Loving Memory

Maurice Arthur Tessier

Maurice passed away peacefully on September 28th, 2026, at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, BC at the amazing age of 99 years and 5 weeks.

Born in St. Constance, Quebec on August 21, 1927, he grew up on a farm near St. Front, Saskatchewan, and moved to Merritt, BC around 1954/1955, where he met and married the Love of his Life, Margaret Alaric.

Maurice was a delivery man for the McGavin/Toastmaster Bread Company, he was also a Projectionist for 7 years, and Maurice and Peggy were well known for their Christmas Tree Farm in Westsyde on Dairy Road.

Maurice loved and was proud of his family, he enjoyed visiting with old Saskatchewan friends and relatives and also playing Music with the Jammers at Mayfair and Riverbend.  No instrument was a challenge for him; he was a natural.

He and Peggy spent many winter months at the Fountain of Youth Resort in California, camping and enjoying the company of other Saskatchewan relatives and friends.

He was known to have daily walks around MacArthur Park Island, always happy and cheerful and enjoying the new friends he chatted with.

Maurice will be missed and mourned by his 3 living children, Louise Olson (Terry), Henry or Hank (Rae) and Kenneth or Ken (Dee) Tessier.

His many grandchildren and great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and his sister-in-law Yvonne.

He was predeceased by their daughter Annette (Tim), and his dear wife Margaret (Peggy).

Maurice was the last surviving member of the 12 Tessier family children, although he was not the oldest, he will be remembered for living the longest.

We will Love you Always and Forever.

Plans for internment will be made at a later date.

I’m sorry for the family loss.

I was lucky enough to have known Maurice through the Hulberts.

Recently, I enjoyed a trip out for ice cream with the boys – Maurice, Rick and myself. A great memory I was lucky to have been part of.

What a great life he lived!

To the Tessier family, I am sorry to hear of your father’s passing. While you probably do not know me , your dad and my dad( Peter Savage); were friends . They bonded in their working days. My dad always said he baked the bread and your dad delivered it. Our Christmas trees always came from your dad’s farm , they were beautiful. My deepest condolences. Monica Watson ( Savage )
