In Loving Memory
Mary Patricia Parish

(Mary) Patricia Parish, age 79 of Kamloops, BC, passed away on May 8, 2025, after a long
battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her family through the process.
Pat was born on March 17, 1946, to John and Ivy Truscott in Vancouver, BC. She lived and went to school in the Kootenay Loop Area.
In 1968, Pat met the love of her life, Brian Parish and they wed on September 16, 1969. The marriage brought into the world, 2 children, Lora (1973) and Christine (1975). She followed Brian to Fort St. John and then to her forever home in Kamloops, BC.
Pat worked many years as a mom and then onto the TNRD Library System where she started as a volunteer and worked her way up the Administrative Assistant for the Library System. During this time, she met a lot of great people and learned so many new skills. She retired from the library and has been able to enjoy her beautiful yard and amazing flowers and vegetable gardens. Pat was always known for her amazing green thumb. Her gardens were always full and prosperous. Those who remember Pat, will also remember her love of puzzles. During the winter, you would always find her at her dining room table working on a large puzzle.
Pat will always be remembered by her loving family, her husband Brian, her daughters, Lora (Bill) Line of Smelterville, Idaho and Christine (Don) Blakey of Lillooet, BC. She will also be remembered by her Grandchildren, Jacqueline (Brendan) Erickson, Nathan and Ellie Blakey. She also leaves behind her Great-Granddaughters, Elizabeth and Emilia Erickson.
Pat leaves behind not only her immediate family, her extended family of Brother-In-Law/Sister-In-Law – Barry & Peg Parish, Marlene (Doug Fujita) Parish, and Mike and Tracey Parish and Niece Kimberly Parish, Nephews, Shaun, Gerald and Greg Parish.
Pat was predeceased by her Mother, Ivy Truscott, her father, John Truscott, Mother-In-Law/Father-In-Law, Anne & Gerald Parish, Brother-In-Law, Christopher Parish and Nephew Jason Parish.
As a family, we would like to give a huge thank you to the Palliative Nurse team – Zone 3B for all the amazing help they provided during this time.
There is no service planned for Pat at this time, but a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
The family happily welcomes donations to be made on Pat’s behalf to the BC Cancer Society.

Pat and I worked together at the library for many years. She worked with good sense and good humour.
She had uncanny people sense and solved many problems before I even knew about them.
More than that, we became friends.
Brian and family, my heart goes out to you. A bright star has passed on.
My sincere condolence Brian to you and the family.
I worked with Pat at the main branch of the Kamloops Library. She excelled at organization with a smile!
Thinking of you Brian, Lora and Christine.
I always learn so much through a well written obituary and Pat’s was no exception.
Looking forward to honoring a great colleague at the future celebration of life!
