In Loving Memory

Leigh Taylor

Leigh Taylor, long time resident of Vernon passed away peacefully in Polson Extended Care, Vernon, BC on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at the age of 77. He was born in Beaverlodge, Alberta November 4, 1948. Leigh and his wife Darlene ran the Pronto Esso Service Station in Armstrong from December 1987 to January 2010.

Leigh was a forty-year member of Masoni Order. Leigh was also a member of the Shriners, R.O.J. and a twenty-two-year member of O.E.S.  He was a Past DDGM, W.M of Prince Charles Lodge 153, Kelowna and Past W.M. of Spallumcheen Lodge #13, Armstrong.

His world belonged to his wife Darlene and son Chad and his special princess, Granddaughter Kyra Taylor and his pumpkin, Granddaughter Kayli Taylor. Whatever they wanted, Oompa said they could have. Chad was so special to Leigh, his “son”, and so proud of all the he had accomplished in life. Not everyone has a special daugher in law like Leigh had, Christine was the apple of his eye. He worshipped her and said that Chad and Chris were just the best parents and he had the best granddaughters in the world.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Darlene, son Chad (Christine), Granddaughters Kyra and Kayli, brother Bryan (Paulette), cousins Donna Taylor and Craig (Vivian), nieces Shannon Taylor and Heather (Nick), cousin Lynne (Paul) Ryan, Leigh’s special Niece Laura Jamieson (Rick), Marion Kilby and lots of cousins.

He is predeceased by his parents Agnes and Peter Taylor, son Matthew Taylor, and niece Kari Taylor-Atkins.

I would like to thank Dr. Lemiski and all the nursing staff of Polson Extended Care.

A service will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 3701- 32 Ave and corner of Alexis Park Drive at 11:00 am Thursday, July 30, 2026. Luncheon to follow.

Donations can be made to the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation in his memory and to BC Alberta Guide Dogs through OES. Send Cheque to Grand Chapter. Re: Guide Dogs, Sue Pfaff, 6256-187 Street, Surrey BC V3S 7N8
