In Loving Memory
Keith Holt

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Keith Holt, born June 27, 1938, in Leeds, England, who passed away on March 11, 2026.
Keith was the beloved son of John Holt and Susan Holt (née Downey), and the cherished brother of Joyce Holt (Smith).
Keith never married and had no children of his own, but he was never without family. His three nephews—Bradley J. Smith (Eldwick, UK), Cameron Dale Smith (Edmonton, AB), and Warren Lee Smith (Airdrie, AB)—were like sons to him. He was always there for them—steady, dependable, and quietly supportive in every stage of life.
Keith immigrated to Canada from the UK in the 1950s, building a life rooted in hard work, family, and the outdoors. He lived in Calgary, later in Innisfail, and spent many years on a farm near Spruce View before eventually retiring to the place he loved most—the cabin in Anglemont, British Columbia.
The cabin was more than just a home to Keith—it was his sanctuary. It became a constant through the years, a gathering place filled with laughter, stories, and lasting memories. Keith loved everything about it—the lake, the fishing, the peaceful surroundings, and most of all, the people. The many friends and extended “cabin family” he shared those years with meant the world to him, and the good times spent together will not be forgotten. Keith had a deep love for nature and a simple appreciation for life’s pleasures—time on the water, a good conversation, and of course, proper fish and chips. He often reminisced about England and returned many times over the years, always maintaining that connection to his roots.
Keith had always said he wanted to spend his final days at the cabin, and in many ways, he did—surrounded by the place and the life he loved, with only a brief time spent in hospital.
He will be remembered for his loyalty, his quiet strength, his sense of humour, and the way he showed up—always—for the people he cared about.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Keith was so incredibly helpful in so many ways – a true friend. Warmth, kindness, and love. What a truly wonderful person. I wish his family the best in healing from their loss. Thank you Keith , rest well
I met Keith a few times, one was at Warren and Marcies wedding. I never knew him very well, but heard stories from family. I know Warren and Marcie visited often and Keith stayed at their home a few times. And Warren’s brothers and their family visited often as well Im sure. Rest in peace “Uncle” Keith. Heaven has family there for you th chat to. ❤️
We will miss Keith’s smile, stories and laughter at the lake.

45 years ago I met dear Keith at my first visit coming from Germany to my dear godfather Gilbert and Ilse meeting them at their cabine.
I never missed to meet Keith and it feels like a big hole now. The few times I came over, it was always sure, he would be there with his wonderful friendly, humble and open welcoming, still after my dear uncle and aunt has passed away .
Now he followed them and I hope he will stalk on with Gilbert to the best german butcher around driving as far as necessary alltogether.
I am so glad his cabine was save after this horrible fire 2 years ago and he could return there, cause he really didn`t want to leave even at this danger.
So good he could fullfill his life there.
May his spirit bless the wonderful cabine familiy and all living beings around, the woods and the lake.
May you be free and happy for ever dear Keith in the eternal love and light.
Thank you Silvia
