Harald Haralds

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our step-father, Harald Haralds. He was predeceased by his wife, and our loving mother, Sylvia Haralds, in July of 2025.

Harald, born of Icelandic parents, was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He became a young man interested in the newspaper business. For many years this vocation took him on travels around Canada and the US as a skilled printer. He eventually settled in Vernon, British Columbia, working for the Vernon Daily News until his retirement in his mid 50’s.

It was at this time he met our mother and they enjoyed 36 years of marriage together. He became step-father to four young adults and grandfather to twelve children.

Harald enjoyed a long life, reaching the age of 97 just last month. Their home on Appaloosa Way, overlooking Okanagan Lake, saw many years of happy family life. It was with great sadness that this home was eventually sold.

Harald is survived by his adult step-children, Randall Bremner, Brenda Fraser, Sandra Boyko, and Lori Peterson.
