In Loving Memory

Frances (Susan) Jean Carroll

With words that are hard to express, the family would like to announce the passing of their beloved Mom, Nan, Great Nan and friend, Susan Carroll, on June 9, 2025.

Frances (Susan) Jean Carroll was born in Quill Lake, Saskatchewan on June 7, 1945 to parents Katherine and Frank Provo.

She is survived by daughters Shawn and Laura-Lee, sons Darren, Ryan, and Shane, and grandsons Vaughn and Brett who were very dear to her. She is also survived by former husband Robert, special friend Anna and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by sisters Betty and Beatrice and brothers Donald and Bert.

Susan was a lady of tremendous faith and converted to Catholicism in her late teens which was to be her guiding light throughout the rest of her life. She earned her RNA diploma and worked at the Sioux Lookout Zone Hospital and especially enjoyed working on the maternity ward and with the elders. She held a special place in her heart for children and she opened a daycare where she could continue to nurture. She always found peace and solitude at her camp on the lake. She loved being in nature and took every opportunity to tap birch trees in spring. Her independence and creativity shone through in the way she took pride in her homes. She loved to bake and was especially known for her cinnamon buns. As her life drew to a close her incredible sense of humour shone brightly. When she was born, her Mom was told to take her home and enjoy her, for she would not have her for long. Thanks be to God Susan had 80 years! Thank you, Mom, for letting us walk you home.

Prayers will be recited at Sacred Heart Cathedral on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at 8:00pm. Funeral mass will take place the following day on Thursday, June 19 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Derrick Cameron officiating.

A private family Interment will take place at Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery in Kelowna, BC
