My condolences and empathy to all of you at this time. I know it is hard but my thoughts and prayers are with you!
I never had a sister but if I could have chosen one it would have been Dorothy. To me, she was the sister of my heart.
I remember the visits and the conversations we would have about everything and anything! She was realistic, down to earth and full of common sense. Plus she had a great sense of humour! She was also very loving and caring!
She will be greatly missed but always in my heart!

  8. Jacquie Rougeau says:

Oh gosh, I have so many memories of fun times spent at the Dickey household. Whenever I came for visits from the coast, I never wanted to go home. My Mom and Dad, Diane and Bill, her brother, will probably remember all the times I said I wanted to move to Williams Lake just to be closer to family — especially Aunti Dot and Uncle Hank and my cousins.
Aunti Dot was so loving and kind, and her home was always open and welcoming. I remember so many moments filled with laughter. What I admired most about her was her authenticity, her compassion, her strength, and her no-holds-barred honesty. She told it like it was, and I loved that so much about her.
She always made both my kids and me feel deeply welcomed and loved. My heart aches for Uncle Hank, because Dorothy truly was the love of his life, and for all my cousins and their families. This is such a tremendous loss for the entire family.
Thinking of you all — Uncle Hanky, Roxanne, Randy, Shayne, and Charlene, your partners, and all of the grandchildren. Sending love as you hold onto the beautiful memories of Aunti Dot. 🤍
Rest in peace, beautiful Aunti Dot. Until we meet again. 🤍

May the road rise gently to meet you,
    Aunti Dot, brave and true.
Your laughter, love, and fierce spirit
will stay woven through our family forever.

Though we say goodbye for now,
your light carries on in all of us.
    Until we meet again,
may you rest where love knows no ending. 🤍

    Dorthy,

What can I say you were always awesome in my book. I remember as a young kid going to Williams Lake and your house with all of our families getting together for a dinner in the backyard. One time Uncle Hank was plucking the feathers off of some foul bird lol and you walked over and said watch, uncle Hank is going to chop off the head. I shrieked and ran away.
I love you auntie Dorthy you will be truely missed by many. For the family. I hope that time will heal your pain. God bless you all in this time of grief.
    Love always

Sending love to entire Dickey family. Dorothy was kind, thoughtful, down to earth and so much fun! I loved the laughs we had with her over the years
I remember a home jewelry party, many years ago, she bought a ring and said it was for trips to the dump, as she insisted that was the only place Hank to her out to. She always made me laugh. I hope you find comfort, and a few giggles, in your memories. She will be missed ❤️

    Hank and Family
My condolences to you and your family, Hank. It is never easy to lose a partner but I think that at this time in our
lives – it is losing your best friend and companion. The family loses an important and loving roll model. So sorry.

  15. Brandy Nohr says:

    Dear Dickey Family,

I was sorry to read of Mrs. Dickey’s passing. While I hadn’t seen her in quite a few years, I was transported back to our time as neighbors in the Esler Road Subdivision. I remember her kindness as we passed through the Dickey yard on our way to our bus stop, my Sister Tana and I terrified of the long walk through the cow pasture. Her and Mr. Dickey and all the Dickey kids always had a smile and kind word for us and our family. I hope you are all able to look back on happy memories and find comfort in those. Take care.
