In Loving Memory

Dorothy Golden

Dorothy Golden (nee Eckersley) peacefully completed her earthly journey June 25, 2025. Born May 2, 1930 in Vancouver BC, she spent her formative years in the pulp mill town of Woodfibre, BC. Growing up, Dot developed a deep love for animals and sports; and later, a deeper connection with her one-true love, Harold. Harold and Dot enjoyed several years of married life before moving to Squamish in 1963. There they raised their 3 children and spent much family time fishing, hunting and camping. Dot’s career path was diverse and among other things, she was a butcher, sales clerk, realtor and post mistress; but she would be the first to tell you that above all, her greatest achievement was that she was a devoted Nana and Great-Nana. She loved her “Grands” and her “Greats” immensely and was profoundly proud of them all. She retired to the Chilcotin in 1989 where her and Dad spent many a day fishing and exploring. After his passing in 1996, she remained there until relocating to Armstrong in 2001 to be closer to family. Here she golfed, bowled, loved her little dog Tessa and spent countless hours watching any and all the sports channels. Left to celebrate her memory are her daughters Kath (Don) and Sherri (Scott) and her son, Clay; along with 9 grand-children – Hayley, Bryan, Kyle, Jamey, Kelsey, Calli, Kodi, Nolan and Sydney; and 14 great-grands – Hailey, Lyssa, Korie, Kasen, Aly, Regan, Beau, Layne, Avery, Ellis, Ryler, Willa, Hayes and Wrenley. Thank you to Dr. Kutsche and the amazing staff at Parkview Place in Enderby for their support and wonderful care.
