It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Bruce William Cassidy of Kamloops, BC on August 13, 2026 at 64 years of age. He is survived by his partner Myrna Morgan, children Ellie Cassidy of Port Moody, BC, William Cassidy (Amy) of Coquitlam, BC, brothers and sisters, Linda Weingart (Gerald), Martin Cassidy, Laura Cassidy, Rose Cassidy, Pat Cassidy, Ray Cassidy (Cassie) and Tavi Eden (Steve) as well as other relatives Charlotte Cassidy, Osten and Inger Johansson, Dan Morgan, Angela Morgan, and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father Kenneth and mother Juanita and brothers Clayton, Vince and sister-in-law Vivian
Bruce was born to Ken & Juanita Cassidy at Vegreville, AB joining 6 siblings, then came little sis Tavi. From an early age, Bruce shared his love of music with his mother. . Before school, the family moved to BC and soon settled in Keremeos and later Cache Creek. Bruce had many, many, many stories from his childhood escapades. After finishing with high school Bruce went on dabbling in various jobs, until he took a job at Ashcroft Treating. Then completed out his last decades working or the Village of Cache Creek.
In the early 90’s Bruce met and was smitten with Charlotte; they married and welcomed Ellie in 1997 and Will in 1998. As life happens… and miles separated them; he put on a lot of miles.
In his leisure time Bruce was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting with friends and family and spending time with Osten at the cabin.
In 2007 he met his life partner Myrna, together spending time at Cache Creek, Kamloops, or any mountain top in between. Together they shared an interest in rock hounding and spent many weekends exploring with the local club. He honed a good lapidary skill and made many shiny, pretty stones.
Retiring in 2020, Bruce spent his time in Kamloops complaining ……. but loving the convenience of city life. After years of failing health Bruce’s pain ended on a sunny morning in Aug.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Kamloops first responders. There is no service by request.

After a recent release from 7North driving home, we were sitting at a busy intersection.
I was driving and Bruce in the passenger seat. Beautiful day. Life was good .
Bruce points at a ladder leaning up against the building and someone working a little way around the corner. He turned to me and says, we should go move his ladder down the street.
We laughed and laughed and laughed.

Oh Brucie, I will cherish you, and all our memories!! The last time we talked, we sang “ You are my sunshine “ together!! It was awesome 💕 Still can’t believe you are gone… Say hi to the family, rest in peace brother 🫶💕

Bruce was born about the same time break dancing became popular. Antie Fran and remember Bruce when he was very young showing off some of his break dancing skills. His best move was was spinning like a top on his head. We got a kick out of that. The last time I talked with him was on messenger when his mother passed. He asked to sing the Deakin Went Down. He took his mothers lead and we sang a couple of courses.
I am so sorry to hear of Bruce’s passing, my condolences to the family. I still remember when I started working at the gas station in Cache Creek and got to know the family. Always told Bruce not to smell the gas, but he just said he liked the smell of it. Had some great times and fun at the Curling rink too, will miss you Bruce.

Smiling thinking of the holiday boat excursion that Bruce took a group of family members being chief navigator and overnight beaching for a fabulous adventure. It was one of the memorable holidays ever. We know that you are know sailing around in the clouds keeping an eye on our nonsense without you to chuckle us on Rest in Peace dear friend until we all meet again always in our thoughts Larry and Jeannie 🙏

Bruce told many, many stories of himself, always the competitor. He likely was competing for his place in the family of 7 siblings. We went on a cruise to Alaska Cruise where darts were involved, trips to Fairmont where golf was played as well as a houseboat tour of Shuswap Lake where he captained the boat. I think he was an all star player of many sports, but curling was his passion.
Our condolences to Bruce’s family. Paul remembers him from school and I mostly remember Bruce from curling. He always had the biggest smile.
When I formally met Bruce when my career started with ghe village of cache creek, he seemed like a hardened man.
As I grew to know him better, I found there was a very soft and kind deeply embedded into his being.
Out of all the senior employees there, Bruce was extremely helpful with me getting my foot in the door with wastewater treatment.
Bruce was also very loyal to his colleagues when it really mattered.
Outside of work, we did do some fishing together on the Thompson River, and other local lakes. We would also exchange many hunting stories.
He’s left a big mark for us, in a good way.
