Thomas John Hibbert

We are saddened to announce that Thomas John Hibbert, born July 1, 1956, in Edmonton, Alberta, passed away peacefully at his home in Vernon, B.C., at the age of 69.

Thomas enjoyed making art, listening to music, gardening, working on his truck, visiting with friends, and most of all, spending time with his dogs. He was proudly sober for 44 years and dedicated much of his life to helping others achieve sobriety, offering guidance and support along the way.

Thomas is survived by his children, Kowyn Hibbert (Mikenna Allan), Zoe Hibbert (Cody Scott), and his sister, Teri Brubaker (Brad Brubaker). He was predeceased by his parents, his sister, Linda Mae Hibbert, and his beloved pets—Chopper, Gus, Merlin, Violet, Lola, Sonny, and, just days after his passing, Bob.

In lieu of flowers, we kindly ask that donations be made in Thomas’s name—or in the name of one of his pets—to your local no-kill humane society or dog shelter.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who visited Thomas at the Landing Sanitarium over the last 33 years. This was a special place for you, as it was for him.
