Tapio (Tap) Huumonen

It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of our dear sweet Tapio. Tapio was born in Kuusankoski, Finland. The family immigrated to Canada in 1952. He spent his younger years in Sicamous and on his parents’ farm in Mara. He had a great love for nature and spent many years working for the Provincial Parks Branch on Vancouver Island. He was always helping in the yard and garden. He was a wonderful woodworker always building something. He is survived by his wife Shirley, sons Aaron and Jared, grandchildren Jasper and Esme, also many other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents and sister and brother. No services as per Tapios wishes. In lieu of flowers we ask that you visit a park and enjoy Mother nature with Tapio! A very special thank you for your kindness in caring for Tapio!
