In Loving Memory

Ronald Victor Kerpan

With deep love and gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who died on January 7, 2026.

A true jack of all trades, he lived a life guided by curiosity, skill, and an enduring sense of adventure. During his time in the Canadian Army he proudly served as an armour (RCEME) and Peace Keeper in Egypt, combining precision with craftsmanship. Beyond his military service, he was a gifted carpenter whose work spanned major hydro dam projects as a high rigger, to the careful restoration of historical homes – each job reflecting his pride in doing things right.

A gypsy at heart, he often said, “The grass was always greener on the other side,” a phrase that perfectly captured his restless spirit and love of discovery. As a private pilot, hunter, outdoorsman, and lifelong learner, he was never afraid to explore new horizons, whether by land, air, or idea.

While he deeply loved the outdoors, his greatest love was always his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Ethel Ruth, with whom he shared 69 years of marriage; his daughters Victoria, Sharon (Patrick); and his son Michael (Sherri). He also leaves behind a proud legacy of nine grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren, all of whom carry forward his stories, skills, and adventurous spirit.

He will be remembered for his resourcefulness, independence, sense of humour. His life was one of purpose, craftsmanship, and boundless heart-and his memory will continue to guide and inspire all who knew him.
