In Loving Memory

Robert William Skelton

With sad hearts we announce the passing of our dad fondly known as Papa on February 22, 2023 with family by his side.

Papa was survived by his to Angel babies Sherri (Joe) Farris , their daughters Jenn (Ryan), Kimberlee (Nathan), Kaylee (Justin) great grand littles Denae, Kylie, Niko, Bentley and Aurora. Leanne (Will) Maw their sons Jason (Brie) and Harley.

Papa owned and operated the family farm and his auto body shop.  He was known in the auto body for his meticulous eye for detail on auto body jobs.

He loved his John Deere tractors and his “cool red  hot rod truck”.

Papa lived for his two living daughters Sherri and Leanne and was so excited to become a grandpa and then a great grandpa.

Papa was friends to so many and the neighbours quickly became extended family.  Everyone knew that papa was only a phone call away if they needed a ride, a tow or something welded.  He liked to check in on neighbours for a coffee or a not so quick gab.  Some referred him as the Mayor of Hullcar.

Another passion was Hullcar Hall.  He was the driving force of the renovations and restoration of the hall in 1990 to be a community meeting place once again.  He would head to the hall every day to make sure the heat was on, put a nail or screw into something.   He was front and Center as our “Hullcar greeter” at the Hullcar pancake breakfasts or other events.

He was always excited when we accomplished something at the hall and most recently the new flooring.

A few of his favourite sayings were “get used to it” or when he was asked how he was, his response “60/40”.

Papa will be missed by everyone whose life he touched.

Papa was predeceased by the love of his life Vi, sister Donna Burns and his parents Dick and Ethel.
