Renee Mary Wear

A remarkable life,
beautifully lived

A lovely and very special little lady named Renee Mary Wear passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2026, surrounded by love.

Renee, Mom, was born in Chippenham, Wiltshire, England, February 8, 1938, to Mary & Reginald Griffiths.

Renee came to Canada as a feisty 10-year-old in the fall of 1948, after surviving the destruction and devastation of the war for a new life in Canada.

She became an accomplished and talented ballet dancer, and with her skill, grace and discipline, she was able to overcome any challenge that came her way.

Mom’s career had many facets, from Hospital Administrator at a Seniors Home in Victoria, Executive Secretary, Office Manager, and in her later years, alongside her beloved husband David, as his partner for Eagle Homes, which allowed them to travel to many places throughout BC, spending winters in Yuma, Arizona, cruises to Hawaii and Alaska, developing long-lasting friendships along the way. Mom was also an accomplished fisher, hunter, race car driver and caregiver for her father in his final years. She was the best Mom in the world, and loving and devoted wife to David, for close to 50 years.

Mom’s biggest challenge came in 2023 when she suffered a debilitating stroke, but her strength and positive determination was an inspiration to many, and through hard work, never losing hope, and David’s love and dedication, she was able to come home again.

Mom was full of fun, laughter and mischief, always there for anyone in need, the brightest light to shine anywhere she went, and she really wanted to go fishing.

Renee is survived by the love of her life, David, her daughter Dawn and son-in-law Bob, many nieces & nephews, and the many dear friends she made throughout her life.

She is predeceased by her dear son Rick, her brother Raymond, and her parents Mary & Reginald.

Renee, Mom will be dearly missed by so many.
