In Loving Memory

Randy Eugene Howkins

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Randy Eugene Howkins on January 19th, 2025 at the age of 70. Randy was born on January 31,1954 and was the middle child of three children and they were raised in Lumby, BC and area.  Randy had many fond memories of growing up in the rural communities of Cherryville and Lumby and many more memories with future generations of family and friends at the cabin or on the lake, all of which will not be forgotten as Randy never failed to make anyone smile or laugh, even sometimes until they cried. Randy worked for Parks and Rec for the Village of Lumby for 32 years and fondly remembered as the Zamboni guy. Randy met the love of his life, Annette, whom he married on December 31, 1993. Together, they tackled a journey filled with laughter, smiles, and experiences. Randy lived a life full of laughter and strength, leaving a mark on everyone he met. Rest in peace to a beloved husband, father, grampa, brother, uncle and much more. A man who will be missed and remembered by all who were fortunate enough to have known him. Randy was predeceased by his father, Gene Howkins, his mother, Florence Boring, Stepfather Ed Boring, sister, Lynn Sagenschneider and brother, Todd Howkins. He is survived by his lovely wife, Annette Howkins, his two children. Terence Howkins, children Brydon, Alyssa, Daiten their mother Lori. Ryan Howkins (Kelly) son Marek , daughter Aurora and her mother Harmony.  Randy was also a big part of Annettes family, his mother-in-law Shirley Grant, many sisters and brother in laws and their families. He was also a great uncle to many nieces and nephew. His presence left an unforgettable mark on each of their lives. Randy looked forward to May long weekend when they would move out to the lake and enjoy sun and relaxation, friends and family and making new memories with his extended lake family. May Randy’s new wings carry him to a place of eternal peace and joy, free from pain, where he will be reunited with loved ones who have passed before him. A very special thankyou to the nurses in ambulatory at the hospital and Dr. Friesen.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
