Phyllis Ann Robertson

Phyllis Ann Robertson was born March 24, 1952 in Vernon and passed away March 19, 2026 in Vernon after valiantly fighting pancreatic cancer for 6.5 years. She never gave up and always planned on being in the 2% of people who lived past 5 years.

 Phyllis loved growing up on the family farm in Mara with her parents, John and Georgie and older siblings, Helen and Brian. She attended grade school in Mara and high school in Salmon Arm. After high school, Phyl moved to Vernon and started working at Consumers Glass and continued her career at Farwest and Tekmar.

Phyllis was tiny but mighty and always interested to learn something new. She enjoyed golfing, baking, word puzzles, homemade dinners with friends and adventures with her partner Don Austin. Phyl was never without a book or two on the go. Her favorite place was at the cabin on Okanagan Lake with family, reading in her hammock, swimming and winning many card games. She loved cats and shared her home with many over the years. Phyllis loved her role as “your eccentric aunt” as she called herself. She joined the Vernon She Shed in her later years and was proud of the Little Library she built and loved to see how many used the library.  

Phyllis loved her family and friends and will be missed by her brother, Brian, nieces and nephews Jacqui, Michelle (Dean), Shane (Anita), BJ (Jodi), Derril (Nicole), her grandnieces/nephews, cousins as well as her many friends. She was predeceased by her partner Don Austin and sister Helen Robertson.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 17 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm in the Halina Room at the Halina Center 3310 37^th Avenue, Vernon BC.
