In Loving Memory

Paul William Morris-Reade

It is with sadness that we announce that Paul Morris-Reade passed away at his home in Vernon, BC, on December 2, 2023, at the age of 64 due to complications from diabetes. He is fondly remembered by his sister Janet Morris-Reade (Rainer Kastens) and nieces Abigail and Rachel of Victoria, BC, his life-long friends, and his birth son Christopher. Paul is preceded in death by his parents Bill and Marg Morris-Reade.

For those who had the pleasure of knowing Paul, they’ll recall his deep passion for cars, often engaging in lengthy conversations about them. He was a member of the Okanagan Mopars Car Club and enjoyed attending car shows. Paul’s love for animals was evident, as he patiently and persistently taught the family cat some impressive tricks. Notably, Paul had a mischievous side, often finding himself in amusing predicaments and playfully “poking the bear,” much to the chagrin of his teachers, family members, and friends. Despite the occasional trouble, Paul lived life on his terms in his way. His immense heart touched all those he loved, and he cherished his role as “Uncle Paul.”

We invite you to a Zoom celebration of Paul’s life on Wednesday, December 27 at 10:00 am PST. To participate, please register at https://bit.ly/PaulMR. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to express sympathy may consider making a donation in Paul’s memory to the Canadian Diabetic Association.

I remember with a great deal of fondness, all of the happy moments that my siblings and I spent with Paul and Janet as children growing up on the same street as neighbors. He often babysat us and made popcorn on the stove along with chocolate milkshakes. I hadn’t seen Paul since those wonderful days and I am deeply saddened to hear of his passing. Many blessings and much love to his family.

    Janet,
I was so sorry to hear of Paul’s passing. He was always so kind when we were kids. And I know he was a good friend to Steve, later on in our lives.
My best to you and your family. In the future I hope you all will enjoy all of the fond memories you have of Paul, for years to come.
    Kindest wishes,
    Cousin Carolyn

Paul was a great childhood friend of mine and we experienced many firsts together. I have great memories of the mischief and adventures that we shared. We built forts, took judo lessons, watched Saturday matinee movies (John Wayne and Bruce Lee), chased girls, learned to smoke and to ski together.
    Rest in peace dear friend.
