In Loving Memory

Nick Orest Bidulka

It is with profound sadness that our family announces the unexpected passing of Nick Bidulka at the age of 84. He leaves behind a legacy of love, caring kindness and cherished memories that will forever be treasured by all who knew and loved him.

Nick was predeceased by his parents, Anton and Pearl Bidulka, his sister Theresa (Gordon Munro), and brother-in-law Dave Gilespie.  He is deeply missed by his loving wife Carol, his son Shaun, daughter-in-law Dori, and his grandchildren Luke & Claire.

Also mourning him greatly are his siblings: Morris Bidulka (Helen) of Three Hills, AB, Joe Bidulka (Jean) of Langley, BC, Bill Bidulka (Marilyn), Andy Bidulka, Sylvia Neill (Rick), Mary Bidulka, all of Vernon, BC, Pauline Gilespie (Dave) of Spallumcheen, BC, John Bidulka of Armstrong, BC, Vera Adams (Terry) of Kelowna, BC, Lorence Bidulka (Lynne) and Linda Honeychurch (Don), both of Calgary, AB, along with his sisters-in-law Dorothy Bogusky (Don) of Lethbridge, AB, Belva Haberstock (Dave) of Vernon, BC, Dianne Einer (Warner) of Brisco, BC, Kim De Boer of Vancouver, BC, and brother-in-law David De Boer of Edgewater, BC, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends from across the country.

Nick was born in North Battleford, Saskatchewan and grew up in Vernon, BC. In 1967 he married his wife of 57 years, Carol De Boer and together they raised their son Shaun. Nick was an avid fisherman, and in his retirement, he was very proud of the fact that his wife was the only one who could out fish him. Nick enjoyed volunteering at the Vernon Halina Senior Center and was an enthusiastic member of the Vernon Pattern Dancers, where he and Carol made many friends. He was also an affiliate member of the Royal Canadian Legion #35 Armstrong, BC. He cherished meeting, visiting, and talking with people from all walks of life and will be greatly missed.

The family wishes to thank all for their support and love at this sad time.  A Celebration of Nick’s life will be held at 11am on Saturday May 18 at the Cypress Funeral Home in Armstrong, BC (2980 Smith Drive).
