Aurea Yvette Marie Demers

November 21, 1933 - March 5, 2025

In Loving Memory

Aurea Yvette Marie Demers

Aurea was born on November 21, 1933. She was a woman of warmth, creativity, and quiet
strength. She married the love of her life, Robert Demers, on June 5, 1954, in Lumby, BC.
Together, they built a life rich in love, raising their three daughters in a community filled with
family and lifelong friendships.

Her family will deeply miss Aurea:
Janine and Lester Patrick, granddaughters Mellissa Ziola (Mark) and Kristy Nixon (Braden), and
three great-grandchildren. Lynn Demers, grandchildren Jason Dyck, Steven Dyck (predeceased), Alli Hames, and six
great-grandchildren. Patsy and Lee Granberg, grandchildren Dawna, Jason (predeceased), Clayton (predeceased), Lorne (Austin), and Taylor Granberg, and two great-grandchildren.

Aurea was a thoughtful and kind woman, cherishing her many friendships and always making
others feel special. She had a profound love for walking—a passion she shared with Robert
throughout their years together. Exceptionally creative, Aurea found joy in working with her
hands, whether knitting, sewing, quilting, arranging flowers, or tending to her meticulously kept
garden.

Her greatest joy, however, came from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she
cherished. Even after Robert’s passing, Aurea remained strong, knowing in her heart that he
would have struggled without her. She carried on with grace and resilience, consistently

demonstrating courage—not just in facing life’s challenges but also in how she embraced her
final journey.
Aurea’s steadfast love, generosity, and gentle determination will always be cherished. She leaves
a legacy of care, continually reminding us of the power of kindness and the depth of a mother’s
love.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Noric House and Dr. Barnard
for their caring support and compassion.

A Memorial Mass will be held on March 22, 2025 at 2:00pm at Our Lady of the Valley Church 10178 Middleton Way Coldstream, BC, with interment to follow directly after.
