In Loving Memory

Margaret “Peggy” Moncrieff

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Margaret (Peggy) Moncrieff on September 8th,
2024, in Vernon, B.C., at the remarkable age of 99. Peggy was predeceased by her parents, Max and
Glyde Collins, her beloved sisters, Betty, Maxine, and Pinky, her husband Cecil Moncrieff (1981), her two
youngest sons Brett and Deane, her grandson Sean, and her partner Merv Rowe (2007).
Peggy is survived by her loving children: Rodney Moncrieff, Gayle Schutte, Les Moncrieff, Edie Moncrieff,
and Keli Slaughter. She also leaves behind many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
After the war, Peggy met and married Cecil while working at the High River Post Office. Together, they
farmed south of High River until 1959, when they moved west and settled in Osoyoos, B.C. There, the
family owned and operated the Blue Blinker Campground for many years. Peggy later worked at the
Osoyoos Post Office for 23 years, where she met her companion Merv. After retirement, Peggy and
Merv enjoyed many years traveling in their motorhome, visiting family and exploring the U.S. and
Mexico until his passing.
In her final years, Peggy lived with her daughter Edie in Vernon, B.C., and passed away peacefully at the
Vernon Jubilee Hospital.
Peggy will be dearly missed by her family and fondly remembered by all who knew her for her kindness,
adventurous spirit, and unwavering love for those around her.
A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Peggy’s
memory to a charity of your choice.
