In Loving Memory

Lorraine Muriel Mork

With deep love and gratitude for a life well lived, the family of Lorraine Muriel Mork announces her peaceful passing on April 11, 2025, at the age of 96.

Born on February 25, 1929, in Victoria, BC, to Herb and Muriel Shand, Lorraine brought joy and warmth to everyone she met. She was the heart of her family, the life of every gathering, and a radiant presence who embraced each day with grace, humour, and style.

Lorraine was predeceased by her beloved husband of 60 years, Harold Mork, and by two of their children, Bonnie MacKinnon (Al) and Steve Mork. She is lovingly remembered by her children Greg (Susan), Jimmie (Leanne), Sharon Ikonomou, and Denise Creed (Brian); her sister Barbara Shand; sister-in-law Grace Mork; her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her cherished nieces and nephews. Lorraine took immense pride in being a devoted mother to six, a proud “Nanny” to 11 grandchildren, and a joyful great-grandmother to 12.

She truly loved life and lived it to the fullest. Lorraine found happiness in life’s simple pleasures—sharing wine and snacks with friends, laughing with family, and delighting in the company of her grandchildren. She had a remarkable ability to bring people together and make every moment feel special.

In her younger years, Lorraine was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi society, and later joined the Langley Senior Vets, where she found great joy in volunteering and socializing. Her adventurous spirit shone through during the years she and Harold spent living abroad in Türkiye and Iran—an experience they cherished. From exploring new cultures to camping in their Westfalia van through the Turkish countryside, Lorraine embraced every opportunity with wonder and enthusiasm.

Known for her impeccable sense of style, she was rarely seen without her jewelry and always looked beautifully put together. Lorraine loved a good joke, listened with intention, and carried a kindness that left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her wisdom, captured so simply in her mantra to “deal with it,” reflected a life lived with acceptance, grace, and an open heart.

As per her wishes, there will be no formal service. Lorraine’s legacy lives on in the laughter she inspired, the memories she created, and the love she gave to us all.

She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
