In Loving Memory
Loreen Barbara Wood

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we share the passing of Loreen Barbara Wood of Armstrong, B.C. on November 21st, 2025. At the age of 86.
A loving mother to her 4 children Leonard Wood (Bobbie), Cheri Osborne (Larry), Jack Wood (Patti) and Patrick Wood, grandmother to Steven, Nicole, Rick, Cathie, Cassie, Courtney, Kolt, Melissa and Christy and great grandmother to Mason, Isabelle, Addisyn, Sophie, Jaxon, Jada, Graham, Elliott, Thomas, Paige, Evelyn and Eleanor.
Loreen is predeceased by her husband Gus, her parents Jacob & Barbara, sister Elaine, sister Beverlee, brother Ed and son Patrick.
Born in Coaldale, Alberta on April 27th, 1939. Loreen grew up in Oliver, B.C. along with her younger brother Ed. She loved growing up in the orchards her family had. She attended Sunday school when she was younger, played the clarinet in high school and in 1957 became the Apricot Princess for the town of Oliver. Soon after she met and married Gus Wood and together, they made Armstrong their home. Life soon became very busy for Loreen. With four young children, she spent years running the cattle farm and out in the fields alongside her husband Gus.
Loreen loved to garden in her yard, read books, play bingo or card games but mostly she loved her family. She dedicated her life to her family. As a mother of four, a grandmother and a great grandmother, she was the heart of the Wood family. Her kitchen was a gathering place for family dinners, holiday celebrations, family meetings or just to chat. Her door was always open to family and friends with a pot of coffee on and homemade baking to compliment it. Her homemade cookies were loved by all, especially her icing cookies that disappeared quickly whenever she made them.
She will be forever missed and remembered for the love she had for all of us, for her warmth, her kindness, her sense of humor, her smile and compassion. Always there with a listening ear and a warm embrace when you needed it.
Her family would like to thank the staff at Pleasant Valley Manor and Abbeyfield House in Armstrong for the loving care they provided to mom in her later years.
A Celebration of Life will be held in May of 2026.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the BC Cancer Foundation.
Your Hug Meant the World
Nobody else held me so tight
Or made me feel so right
No one’s eyes shined so bright with love
As my mom, who is now high above.
