In Loving Memory

Linda Ann Worsley

It is with great sadness that the Worsley/Stalberg families announce the death of Linda Ann Worsley peacefully in the Vernon Jubilee Hospital on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at the young age of 75 with her loving partner Stephen by her side. Beloved partner and best friend to Stephen Stalberg for 32 years. Dear sister to Franceen (Paul), Kevin, the late Adele(Kip) and the late Bryant. Loving Aunt of David (Linda) and Jonathan Kendrick, Sarah (Corey) and Jan Beckman and Great-Aunt to Elizabeth Kendrick.  Lovingly remembered and deeply missed by Stephen’s mother and Father, Jean and Jens Stalberg, Sister Heather Stalberg, Brother Michael Stalberg and wife Terri, nephews  Mathew and Jackson, Sister Kirsten Stalberg and husband Ben and nephews Finn and Jae.  Loved daughter of the late William and Maureen Worsley. Linda was of Irish ancestry and grew up in Otterburn Park, a small community outside of Montreal. She moved to British Columbia in the late 1980s. Linda and Stephen moved from North Vancouver to Lake Country B.C, in early 2018. They had custom built a new home together. Linda was the decorator no question about it. She turned their new house into a very special home for the both of them. Linda had decorations for every season and holiday and loved setting up displays inside and out of the house. Linda started making many new friends with neighbours as soon as they arrived. Christmas was a special season for Linda which she looked forward to every year. The tree was like a handcrafted marvel, the house filled with many any decorations she cherished and saved. She would also pick out individual advent calendars for each of her nephews and niece which she would mail all over the country, that was just the kind of person she was, she loved to treat and look after everyone. At Halloween she put individual treat bags together for every trick or treater in the neighbourhood that she knew. She loved going to her gym classes at Beasley Community Center beside Wood Lake and met so many new and wonderful gym mates, many becoming close friends. Linda also loved tending to her beautiful garden all summer long spending many hours looking after her incredible flowers which attracted many hummingbirds and butterflies which thrilled her. Linda and Stephen joined the Vernon Yacht club in 2021. Linda loved cruising Okanagan Lake and enjoyed picnic lunches, swimming and relaxing, often tied up to a Yacht Club buoy near Ellison Provincial park. In 2004, Linda and Stephen purchased a beautiful place in Washington state at “The Glen at Maple Falls”, she loved it there and they spent much of their time talking with neighbours, most becoming lifelong friends, enjoying the peaceful setting, decorating for all occasions, shopping and dining out in Bellingham, boating on Lake Whatcom and riding their motorcycle to the top of Mount Baker.  Many wonderful vacations were spent on the islands of Oahu at The Turtle Bay Resort ( she loved turtles)and especially Maui at  The Napili Kai Beach Resort. She loved shopping at the outlet malls in Palm Springs and Las Vegas. Linda always looked radiant, rarely leaving the house without her hair done, lipstick on, earrings, scarf and nice shoes to match her clothes, a true lady and a true lover of life. Her family, friends, and co-workers will miss her infectious humour, sweet nature, and positive spirit.

Forever in our hearts.

Linda was a valued colleague and dear friend. She was an outstanding Executive Assistant and much admired by her co-workers and volunteers at the Canadian Cancer Society. Among her many gifts was her genuine interest and compassion for others. She always made time to share a laugh or tear and had a gift for lifting peoples’ spirits. She loved Stephen and their life together. Peter and I feel blessed to have known Linda!

I’m so sorry to hear of Linda’s passing… We used to work together at BCCHF and she was so wonderful to work with. Always willing to help others, a fantastic sense of humour and always dressed to impress. Rest in peace lovely Linda, you will be missed ❤️

  3. Ed and Marci Weiss says:

We had the privilege of knowing Linda for three years where we met in a workout class. She was so inviting and we very quickly formed a friendship. Her kind, caring nature radiated throughout our classes and her desire to always lend a hand setting up and tearing down became something that many took part in. We loved her quick wit, her smile and her laugh. She always included everyone so no one felt left out especially when we went for our traditional lunches at the end of our workout seasons. Linda was always put together with her outfits and always with lipstick on!! Rest in peace dear friend and know that you touched our hearts and lives in such a special way. You are missed!

Our beloved neighbour is watching us from the sky!
Since we moved to our new house, Steve and Linda always supported us!
Every morning she was outside taking care of the garden and ready to talk with us!
We are neighbours for almost a year, but definitely they are our best one ever!
In our native language (Portuguese) Linda means beautiful/wonderful.
Linda is the best name for her!!
In Portuguese: Linda friend, Linda Neighbor, Linda inside , Linda outside!!
We’re missing you and praying for you and Steve.

What a beautiful tribute to such a beautiful lady. She will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. We are neighbours at the Glen, and it just won’t be the same without seeing Linda’s smiling face. All her little touches are everywhere and we enjoyed seeing all her decorations for all seasons. Linda always loved seeing pictures and hearing stories about our grandkids, that we were more than happy to share with her. Steve, we know you will miss her, but we hope that your memories of your life together will give you comfort. 💕

My sincere condolences to her husband Stephen, Franceen, Kevin and families. Linda and I grew up in Otterburn Park together. We were childhood friends. I remember walking to school together and going to movies together. She was truly a lovely, classy girl. I think of her often.

  7. Lia Van Nuland says:

I am deeply grateful for having known Linda.
Gutted she has left our lives certainly not without leaving her mark.

Linda was our neighbour at the Glen. Always greeted us us with a smile
as she came around the back yard of the trailer with a handful of
magazines or a seasonal ornament even when we weren’t there.

Linda and Steve were always watering a plant, blowing off the deck,
and checking if our properties were okay especially when my
husband passed away suddenly in 2018.

She had a genuine interest in following the kids and grandkids lives.
Always a positive word for everyone.

We both love gardening and loved to chat what we were planting in
    our yards at home.

I will always remember your beautiful smile and your kindnesses.

My deepest condolences to you Steve and all your families.

Lia, Nicole and Aimee and Wendy and families
