In Loving Memory

Larry Brian Loewen

It is with broken hearts we announce that our beloved father, Larry Brian Loewen, passed away suddenly at home in the autumn of last year.

Larry was born in Steinbach, MB, into a large family of 10 kids. He spent his childhood years growing up on a farm until the family moved to BC when he was a teenager. Larry had various jobs in his early life, but his love for cars was a true passion & he worked as a mechanic for most of his life.

In 1978 Larry found the true love of his life, Valerie Brook. Val was a nurse, and the two of them shared many good times going on road trips, spending time with extended family, and just enjoying each other’s company, often dancing the night away. Together they raised two daughters, Crystal & Loralie, and the fun continued. They enjoyed many more road trips, camping trips, countless family dinners and movie nights. They always remained a very close family.

Sadly, Larry lost Valerie in a tragic accident in 2012, which was completely devastating for him and the girls. Larry continued to be one of the best dads around, providing love & support to his girls, always staying present in their lives. He always kept his sense of humour and was always trying to make people laugh, which will truly be missed.

Larry is predeceased by his loving wife, Valerie Brook, parents Marie & Cornelius Loewen, brother Robert and sister Rosella. He is survived by his daughters Crystal (Darren), and Loralie (Ryan), brothers Norman (Eileen), Aldin (Debbie), Waldon (Debbie), sisters Margaret (Irvin), Marion (Murray), Trudy (Rick), and Clarice (Steve), as well as daughters Dawn (Clayton) and Cheryl (Darrell).

We are truly grateful for having such a wonderful person in our lives, for the time that we did.
His love, laughter and positive attitude will live on in us forever.

A Memorial Service will be held for Larry on Sunday, April 26th, 2026, at 2:00pm at Gateway City Church, 163 Oriole Road.
