Kenneth John Fischer

In Loving Memory

Kenneth John Fischer

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth John Fischer on February 10, 2024, in Vernon, BC.

Kenny was born in Neepawa, Manitoba on January 3, 1952, to parents John and Alice “Mae”. He was the 4th out of 5 kids. In 1960, the family moved from Plumas, MB to Enderby, BC. This is where he met Laureen, the mother of his 2 kids, Jason “Fish” and Meagan.

He drove logging trucks and water trucks most of his life, and even got his driving instructor ticket. One of his most prized possessions was his red Corvette, which he loved cruising in on the weekends. You could usually find him having beers in the shop or by the fire with family and friends, or watching hockey and football at home. Kenny was an active Legion member in Enderby and enjoyed participating in all types of legion events. He was awarded an honorary lifetime Legion membership due to his extensive volunteering. Many will remember his Santa Claus beard, which he always loved being recognized for. He drag raced for many years, and more recently, his son raced their truck for Fischer Racing. We will always think of him lovingly every time we hear “Show Them to Me” by Rodney Carrington.

He is predeceased by parents John and Mae, and his brother Doug. He survived by siblings Bill, Evelyn, and Donna; children Jason and Meagan; grandchildren, Ben, Becca, Alexandria, and Zach; great-grand daughter Natalia, and many other extended family members.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Royal Canadian Legion.

I cannot express enough how very sorry I am over the passing of Kenny….I have known him for many years probably since the 60’s and always thought a lot of him, he had a sense of humour which is important to me and I always had a good time with this guy when he came into the Club .serving him a “few” beer over the years, spending many times with him while he was on the executive and for a spell, we worked together when he was House Chairman….always fair, always gave his ideas but listened to mine, and most of all gave me support. I haven’t seen Kenny for a few years now but he will be missed.. My condolences to all the family….
