In Loving Memory

June Geraldine Danforth

On March 31, 2025, we lost a truly inspiring person, June Geraldine Danforth, also known as Gerrie, Mom, Sister, Aunt, Grandma, G.G., and friend. Gerrie’s humor, humility, and exceptional dignity remained unwavering as she passed away, surrounded by family. She was born on November 14, 1924, in Medicine Hat, Alberta. At a young age, she moved to Vancouver, where she lived with her mother, Harriet Brereton, and attended King George
High School.

In 1952, she married Frank James Danforth and settled in Enderby, where they raised their three children: Dave, Carol, and Ralph. In 1960, they purchased a service station, which they named Danforth’s Corner, and operated it until 1977. After selling the business, Gerrie shifted her focus to volunteering at the Enderby Museum, a cause she loved and dedicated herself to until her 100th birthday. Gerrie was always looking for ways to help people in
her community, and volunteering was a passion of hers.

Gerrie lived life to the fullest. She loved her family and spent countless hours with them at her Mable Lake cabin. She will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is lovingly remembered by her children: Dave (Pat) Danforth, Ralph (Cindy) Danforth, and son-in-law Dale (Lise) Berger; her grandchildren: Cale (Tara), Alexa (Matt), Tory (Mike), Erica (Dustin), Calvin (Danielle), Tyler, David, Christopher, Tanisa; and great-grandchildren: Colton, Connor, Laeklyn, Keattan, Ina, Camille, Rokke, Aurora, Nya, Rhys, and Talin. She is also remembered by her nephews and nieces: Doug Danforth, Jody Romano, Mona Ferguson, Tom Danforth, June Dedood, and Barb Meise. She will also be missed by her half-sister, Faye Goodwin, and her brother, David Brereton, as well as many great-nephews and nieces.

Gerrie was predeceased by her mother, Harriet Brereton; her husband, Frank Danforth; her daughter, Carol Berger; and her half-sister, Fran McLeod.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Enderby Museum.
