Juan Maritorena
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Juan Maritorena on Dec 16th, 2023, at the age of 86. Juan was predeceased by his wife Diane and is survived by his children Lisa Michelle (Jim) Roe, Lisa Diane (Morgan) Chenier, and Jose Maritorena.
Juan was born outside the village of Amaiur Spain, the youngest of 10 children. He moved to Canada in 1962 and joined his brothers in the logging industry. He was a stalwart supporter of his family and parish, always ready to lend a helping hand. He will be missed by his children, grandchildren, great grandchild, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff at Kelowna General Hospital, granddaughter Melissa Roe and great-niece Julia Christy for their care of Juan. Funeral Mass to be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Merritt at a later date.

My condolences to the entire Maritorena family. I remember him as part of the hard working old style loggers of bc
It’s with a heavy heart to hear of John’ s passing.
He was a great friend and we had some good times together.
He will be missed!

My deepest condolences to Juan’s family, he was a dear brother-in-law and will be deeply missed. He always had a story to tell and a great sense of humour. Always ready to lend a hand whenever it was needed. He was strong in his faith and his love for his family. ❤️
