In Loving Memory

Joyce Clara Bilodeau

On the afternoon of May 3, 2024, Joyce Bilodeau (nee Sarasin) passed away peacefully at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops at the age of 86.

Joyce was born in Sherbrooke, Quebec, where she met her one true love, Guy Bilodeau. In 1958 they married and had two children together, John and Cathy. The family moved together to B.C. in 1974 where Joyce raised her family while working for the City of Kamloops until her retirement in 2000.

Joyce loved spending time in nature, caring for her flowers, and swimming in the Shuswap Lake. All her life she was a passionate animal lover, who cared deeply for every pet lucky enough to come into her care. Along with her husband, she was very involved in the breeding and showing of Old English Sheepdogs, a hobby and business she adored. Later in life, they were happy to become snowbirds, who wintered in Arizona where Joyce enjoyed the sunshine, golfing, shopping, and bingo. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be greatly missed by her many family members and friends.

Joyce is predeceased by her husband Guy. She is survived by her children John (Dona), Cathy (Ann). Her grandchildren Ashlyn (Travis), Mallory (Taron), Zach, Becky (Caitlin), and Lane and her great-grandchildren Hayden, Nolan, Avery, Evan, and Julia.

Mom, I hope you and Dad are reunited with each other and all your doggies at the rainbow bridge.

Sorry to hear of Joyces passing, she wanted me to visit her but i could not for various reasons.
We were cousins and I wanted to visit before Guy passed, but it did not happen. I was in touch with Guy up and till his passing via email. i was on facebook with Joyce until recently when her time on Facebook was less and less. Then when doing research I found this on internet.
When Guy and Joyce were living in Sherbrooke we spent a lot of time together. Guy and I played a lot of golf together. We even played 54 holes together on the same day. 9:00 am to 9:00 pm. in those days the North hatley golf course we could play as much as you wanted when paying for 18 holes.

I am glad to hear that they left many children- grandchildren and great grandchildren to carry on their legacy.

I have passed the news on to all of her relatives here in the Sherbrooke area.
