In Loving Memory
John Dennis Appleby

John Dennis Appleby passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on September 19, 2026, in Vernon, BC. John was 80 years old.
Born in Salmon Arm, BC, on September 15, 1946, John grew up in Armstrong, BC, along with his two brothers and four sisters. He developed a lifelong connection to the region and its farming community roots. He spent his professional career as a dedicated logistics and procurement professional, bringing a sharp mind and steady work ethic to his jobs in the beverage, lumber, paper, and oil industries.
Beyond his career, John’s true passion was raising cattle. He was a proud and heavily involved member of the Angus Association, dedicating much of his spare time to raising Angus cows. When he wasn’t tending to his cattle, John could often be found piecing together the stories of those who came before him. He was a passionate genealogist, spending countless hours tracing his family’s history and preserving their legacy for future generations.
John was a deeply devoted family man. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Carol-Lynn; his sons, Colby (Charlene) and Scott (Maureen), and his cherished grandchildren, Everett and Catalina. He will also be profoundly missed by his sisters, Edna Luxton and Bernice Sagh, as well as extended family, neighbours, and friends within his community.
A Celebration of Life will be held on October 25, 2026, from 1:30pm to 3:30pm at the Coldstream Community Hall.
