Jeanne Lucie Karcz
Jeanne was born June 21, 1955 in St. Boniface, Manitoba and it is with great sadness that she passed away suddenly on Thursday, February 9, 2023.
Jeanne grew up in Edmonton, moved to Calgary in 1971 and completed her high school at St. Francis High School and then went on to get her BA from the University of Calgary. She worked for AGT, BC Telus, was a project mgr for Siemens Canada in Vancouver and closed off her working career with Harbour Air, Vancouver.
Jeanne was a person who lived life to the fullest! From the moment she met her husband Henry, they embarked on a journey of exploration and adventure. They travelled to more than 70 countries and six continents. They shared their love of boating (Royal Vancouver Yacht Club), skin diving, ski patrol and piloting their Cessna aircraft. She was an accomplish pianist and piano teacher. In 2013 she retired and moved to Armstrong, BC and enjoyed golfing, curling and sailing with the North Okanagan Sailing Assoc. She continued to challenge herself by learning to play the violin and living three months in Mexico to learn Spanish and then she traveled extensively in South America.
Jeanne was predeceased by her beloved Henry in 2005. She is survived by sister Marguerite, partner Wilson, her sons Neil (Grocholski), Glen (Grocholski),Tera and their children. Her sister Helene (Spreng) and spouse, sons Jamie and children, Aaron and Krista and children. Her sister Therese “Terri”, Jim (Lockhart), sons David, Kevin, (Hannah). Her brother Lionel “Leo”, partner Pam, his children, Paul (Alana), Carolyne and daughter, Julie (Morin), Qinah and children.
For Jeanne what touched her heart most was the time spent with family and friends. May you rest peacefully dearest sister Jeanne; you will be missed by all. A small family gathering will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation to “Doctors Without Borders” in Jeanne’s memory is requested.

The news of Jeanne Karcz’s passing came as a shock to all of us at the Air Cadet Foundation of BC.
