In Loving Memory

Jacqueline Florence Niehaus

Jackie was born on August 20, 1934 in Amherst Nova Scotia to Annie and Valerie Legere. She was schooled in Amherst, then trained as a nurse at St. Martha’s School of Nursing in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. She joined the RCAF in 1956 as a nursing sister. She was stationed at CFB Goose Bay, Labrador, CFB Grostenquin France and CFB Trenton where she met FLt Herbert Niehaus. She married Herbert on October 12, 1963. She left the military to raise her 2 boys; David (Karen) and Paul (Joanna) and was the proud grandmother of Melissa, Michael, Benjamin and Cora.

Jackie enjoyed bowling, curling, travelling and knitting baby clothing for the Vernon Jubilee Hospital. She was especially fond of her travels with Bert along the Oregon coast, appreciating the natural beauty, sites and entertainment along the way, bringing up her sentimental memories and love of Nova Scotia.

Prayers will be held at Our Lady of the Valley Church (OLOV) at 6 pm Wednesday July 23rd, followed by mass of Christian burial, at 3 pm Thursday, July 24th at OLOV.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Vernon Hospice in her name.
