Hilda Clayola Rasmussen

Hilda Clayola Rasmussen previously a long-time resident of Penticton passed away at the Vernon Hospice House on Sunday, October 8, 2023 at the age of 97. 

Born in Diligent River, Nova Scotia on March 6,1926; she moved to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan after the war and then in November 1957 moved to Penticton where she owned and operated Valley Foto along with her second husband John Rasmussen. 

She was predeceased by her parents Burpee and Zelma Joyce and her brothers Byron (Bill), Wyman and sister Dodi Carroll.  She was also predeceased by her husband John, son John Michael and daughter Marlene Verigin (nee Fonger). 

She is survived by her daughter Jane Rasmussen (Tanya) of Regina, SK, sons George Fonger (Claire) also of Regina, SK, and Randy Fonger (Audrey) of Vernon, B.C. along with a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, a great-great grandchild and a number of nieces and nephews.

There will be no service at her request.  Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery on Thursday, October 19, 2023
