Herb John Ransbury

It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of Herb on December 28, 2024, at Vernon Jubilee Hospital. He was a devoted husband, a wonderful father, and a loving grandfather. Herb is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Franca Ransbury; his sons, Justin and Andrew; and his daughter, Nancy, whom he affectionately called “Princess.” He also leaves behind four cherished grandchildren. Additionally, he is survived by his dear sister, Gail Stroud, and a wonderful family in Ontario, Canada. Herb lived life on his own terms and was always there to lend a helping hand. He served as a beacon in his local communities, working as the local cable technician for over 35 years, beginning his career in Ontario and concluding it at 65 with Shaw Cable in Powell River. In lieu of flowers, we kindly request that you consider making a donation to your local food bank in memory of Herb Ransbury, as this cause held a special place in his heart. We will hold a small service at Cypress Funeral Home in Armstrong, BC, on January 8th, 2025, from 11 AM to 1 PM. Toronto Maple leaf attire is requested for service, no suits or formal wear. Additionally, in April, we will organize a Celebration of Life that reflects Herb’s wishes.
