Helen Unruh peacefully passed away on July 17, 2025, at the age of 98. In her final days, she was surrounded by family and friends who offered love and comfort. Helen brought those closest to her together one last time, surrounded by warmth and a sense of belonging.
Helen is lovingly remembered by her children John (Marianne), Anne, Joyce, Ron (Darlene), Shirley, and Verna (Doug); her grandchildren Michael, Shelley, Marcel, Andrew, Adam, Jessica (Kyle), Sara, Jacob, and Zoe (Evan); and her great-grandchildren Caydence, Bryony, and Isabelle.
Born to George and Anna (Heinrichs) Wiebe, Helen was one of eighteen children. Throughout her life, she experienced both joy and loss, including the passing of her parents, her first husband Peter, her second husband Norman, two of her children, Harry and Judy, and five siblings who passed away in infancy, Peter, Jake, Anna, Tina and George. Their memories were always held close to her heart.
Among her siblings, she was also preceded in death by Peter (and his wives Susanna and Agnes), Jake (and wife Margaret), George, Henry (survived by his wife Marilyn), Ben (and his wife Agatha), Frank (survived by his wife Judy), John (survived by his wife Tina), Mary (and her husband John). She is lovingly remembered by her sister Ann and her brothers Ike (and wife Delores), Willy, and Abe (along with his wife Margaret)
A celebration of Helen’s life will be held on July 30, 2025, at Cypress Funeral and Cremation Services, 2980 Smith Drive, Armstrong, BC. Visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 1:00 p.m. The graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Armstrong/Spallumcheen Cemetery, 4250 Highland Park Road. A reception will be held afterward at the funeral home where family and friends can gather to share memories and support one another.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to World Vision, a cause close to Helen’s heart. They also extend sincere thanks to the staff at Monashee Mews Care Facility for their compassionate care.

Our deepest condolences to Ann and the siblings. We enjoyed having your Mother as a Neighbor for years and she would have Coffee every week for anyone to come , such a Hostess. And a fine Loving Christian Woman.
