Fred Findlay

Fred Findlay passed away on April 27 at Vernon Jubilee Hospital.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman and supporter of sport and the 4H Club.  He was a strong advocate for the agriculture community. He dearly loved the Okanagan Valley and was a valued member of the Spallumcheen community. He will be fondly remembered for his quick wit and sense of humour. He was predeceased by wife Diane and survived by sons Neil (Sun Peaks, BC) and Mark (Jennifer) (Issiquah, Wa) and his 4 grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the BC Cancer Foundation.

    Fred will be missed by many in our community , we met many years ago and always had a good chat whenever we saw each other. He was an avid s!owpitch player years back and I am sure as a result of an after game get together our hand printed recipe book had a salmon barbeque marinade recipe added with the final note reading “it’s deadly” . Fred mentored me in my quest to be school trustee mainly because I respected his insight and integrity , he was in fact a school trustee himself ; being chairperson in 85 and 86. I will miss seeing those Angus graze in the wetlands. Thank- you Fred
