In Loving Memory
Emma Gladys (Peggy) Pepper
It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Emma Gladys (Peggy) Pepper on June 3, 2024 with family by her side at the age of 96. Mom was born on May 4, 1928 along with her twin sister, Cec, in Cochrane, Alberta to Tom and Gladys Baptie. She resided on the farm in Cochrane until 1947 when she married Leonard Pepper and moved to Exshaw, Alberta where the 5 of us were born. In 1959 mom and dad uprooted the family and moved to Armstrong, BC where they purchased a dairy farm. They worked tirelessly to produce a very successful operation while raising us, which was not an easy task. In 1978 they sold the farm and retired in Vernon, BC., spending their winters in Arizona. Mom was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed selling her wares at the Vernon Farmers Market as well in Arizona. She specialized in wedding dresses which many a bride proudly wore. Mom also enjoyed her house pets which there were many of. She loved to host large gatherings of family and friends, her apple pies and ice-cream would be eaten by many for breakfast, but her real passion was her grandchildren, grannies taxi got a workout. Her kindness and compassion touched many lives.
Mom is survived by children, Bill (Lois), Jim (Debbie), Doug (Kathy) and Margo. Son-in-law Bill Falkenberg (June) and Daughter-in–law Barb Pepper, 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, sister Cec Tempany, Sister-in-laws Betty Baptie and Gail Sanderson.
Predeceased by husband Leonard, daughter Gail, sister and brother-in-law May and Joe Bozak, brothers Jim and Bob Baptie.
Special thanks to Canterbury Court, Creekside Landing and Dr. Cunningham for the kind care provided to mom.
Please join us as we come together to honour and celebrate the life of our mom on Saturday, September 7th, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Vernon Army & Navy Hall, 2500 46 Ave, Vernon.
There is an angel watching over us, we call her mom.

My sincerest condolences, it saddens me deeply to hear about Peggy’s passing. She was an incredible lady! She had a huge heart and was very giving. I’ve known her to be so independent, hard working and an incredible seamstress. She will be missed.
