Eidlyn “Lyn” Korberg

Eidlyn “Lyn” Korberg was born on November 1, 1928 in Erickson, Manitoba to Flora & Enoch Ehlin. Second oldest of four daughters, she was raised and went to school in Erickson. She went on to Nurses training in Brandon and for a time taught in a local one room school.

Mom married our Dad, John Korberg, on March 18, 1954 and they were days away from celebrating their 66th Anniversary in 2020 when Dad passed away. 

Together they worked the family farm in Hilltop while raising their 3 children. In 1965 the young family moved to Armstrong, B.C, where Dad worked in sawmills in Falkland and Armstrong. On his retirement they moved on to Vernon, B.C.

They enjoyed spending time at the family cabin and travelled around the Province, across Canada and visited many other places and Countries over the years. 

Mom really loved spending time in her garden enjoying the birds, especially chickadees and tending her beautiful flowers. She also enjoyed reading, baking, sewing, knitting and other handicrafts, skills which she passed on to her family. Mom knit many items for the family and many more were donated to charity. She had a witty sense of humor, that could catch you off guard and liked to watch “her” Raptors play a good game and kept up with the Blue Jays as well. 

Mom loved all her family unconditionally and was always there to listen and offer support. So loving and so loved, she was a wonderful Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma. We will cherish her memory. 

Survived by her 3 Children: Kerry, Kevin (Kristen) and Karyn, 7 Grandchildren: Jesse, Alissa (Dan), Bret, Conner (Liv), Jaeden, Conall & Kingsley, 5 Great Grandchildren: Jaida, Keaira, Mia, Cooper & Satori. She is further survived and missed by her sister Eireene, daughters-in-law Marina & Sheryn and numerous nieces and nephews. Sister Eileen passed away January 7, 2023. She was predeceased by her husband John, grandaughter Kelsey, son-in-law Jack, and baby sister Yvonne. 

Mom passed away peacfully January 6, 2023.
