In Loving Memory
Edward Frederick Fisher

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edward Frederick Fisher. He passed away on May 5th in Armstrong, B.C., having spent his final weeks surrounded by the love and frequent visits of his family. We extend our deepest thanks to the staff at Pleasant Valley Manor for making his last days as comfortable as possible. Ed was a beloved brother, father, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed.
Ed was born on March 31, 1949, in Paradise Hill, Saskatchewan, to Walter and Theresa Fisher. He arrived as a twin alongside his brother, Tony, and was one of nine children (Christina, Rosina, Josephine, James, Ed and Tony, Linda, John, and Otto). While the children were still young, the family moved to Alberta, settling in a rural community near Didsbury, where Ed eventually graduated high school in 1967.
Following graduation, Ed began a long career with Federated Co-Op, moving from Olds to Oyen and Strathmore before eventually finding his way to Revelstoke, B.C. It was there he began meat cutting. Ed later moved to Armstrong to manage a branch of Southern Music Ltd., a Calgary-based company where three of his brothers also worked. In his retirement, Ed stayed active on his acreage near Armstrong. For Ed, retirement didn’t mean slowing down; he was a talented carpenter and landscaper who could usually be found puttering around his shop. He was also known to be especially talented with the barbecue and even dabbled in wine making. A man of many skills, Ed was a wonder to us all.
Ed was predeceased by three sisters, Christina, Rosina, and Linda and was survived by his siblings, Josephine, James, John, Otto, and his twin brother Tony. Ed was predeceased by his first wife, Lorraine, and is survived by their two children, Leeann and Jeff. He was also predeceased by his second wife, Katie, and is survived by their three children: Angela, Candace (Wade), and Bobbi (Jason). Just a year ago, his third wife, Linda, passed away; he is survived by her two children, Andy (Amanda) and Cindy (Shawn). Ed’s legacy also lives on through his eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A man who truly loved to entertain, Ed’s happiest moments were spent with family. The youngest members of the family will fondly remember visiting the property for tractor rides. With a wonderful sense of humor and a heart always ready to help, Ed’s loving nature and kind soul will be missed by all who were so lucky to have known him. A celebration of life will be held for Ed later this year.
