In Loving Memory
Edgar Robert Wolf
Edgar Robert Wolf
June 28, 1938 to December 2, 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edgar Wolf on December 2 at the age of 86 in the care of the North Okanagan Hospice House. Edgar was born June 28, 1938 and raised in rural Saskatchewan, just south of Moose Jaw. He had a love of Mathematics and wanted to be an Engineer. However, he felt compelled to enter the teaching profession instead. He worked most of his career in various towns in Alberta. In 1995 he retired from 34 years of teaching and moved to beautiful BC with his wife Margaret. They built a home in Parker Cove, Vernon where he was an active community member. He and Margaret were such a “fixture” at the Duck Races or the Ice Cream Socials or collecting recipes to create the community cookbook “Palate Pleasers I & II.” Edgar was a religious man, attending church, taking on various positions within the Knights of Columbus and a Catholic school principal in Peace River. He also connected with Seniors’ groups in his community, often helping seniors do their taxes. Edgar enjoyed many sports; baseball, curling, golfing, carpet bowling, pickleball and yoga with Linda. He was also an avid bridge and cribbage player – although he would peg twice if YOU are not paying attention.
Edgar’s spirit will live on through the memories of his family and all who knew him. Edgar is predeceased by his parents Robert and Mallie Wolf, Meryl Wolf and Margaret Wolf. He is remembered by daughter Diane Buerfeind (Edmund), sons Gary Wolf, Darren Wolf, Wayne Wolf and grandchildren Jason Buerfeind (Randi) , Kandace Buerfeind-Dorcas (Mike and Emberly), Heather Buerfeind, Ethan Kondla-Wolf, Maia Kondla-Wolf, and Zoe Kondla-Wolf. A Celebration of Life will occur on a future date.
As a family we would like to express our deepest gratitude to the amazing staff at the North Okanagan Hospice House and the many doctors and specialists. Those wishing to do so, may make a memorial contribution in memory of Edgar to the Canadian Cancer Society (104 – 3402 27th Avenue, Vernon, BC V1T 1S1) or to the North Okanagan Hospice House (3506 27th Avenue, Vernon, BC V1T 1S4).

My sincere condolences to the family and all who have been touched by Edgar one way or another. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. My late husband and I had many good chats with him and visited at Parker Cove a few times. May he rest peace.
