In Loving Memory
Daniel Joseph Clement Desrochers
On Thursday, September 7, 2023, Daniel Joseph Clement Desrochers passed with his loving wife and four daughters at his side. We lost the world’s greatest husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend there is.
Dan was born in Mariapolis, Manitoba on September 11, 1937 to Joseph and Carmelle Desrochers.
Dan was a lifelong learner out of necessity. If he didn’t know how to build or fix something, he figured it out. His ingenuity and can-do attitude started early. He left school at an early age to help on the family farm. He was 9 years old the first time he drove a team of horses a mile to town to deliver a wagon of grain. From there he joined Manitoba Telephone Company at 15 years old, welcomed two beautiful daughters, moved west with Mom at 30 years old, welcomed two more daughters, worked as a linesman for BC Telephone Company, and began cultivating and taming not only one but two rugged farms.
If you asked Dad, his greatest accomplishment was being a father and husband. His love for his family, friends and farm was unparalleled. He was firm but always gentle, instilling love, respect and loyalty from his kids and animals. He was a man that had everything he wanted in life.
Dan is predeceased by both parents and sisters Rose and Lorraine. Dan leaves behind his wife, Dolores of 56 years, daughters Shelley (Don), Sherry (Brent), Christina-Lynn (Jeremy), and Danielle (Rich) as well as 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
A private family gathering to celebrate Dan’s life and the joy he brought will be held.
