In Loving Memory

Christopher Kenneth Hansen

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Christopher Kenneth Hansen.
He passed away peacefully on November 5, 2023 surrounded by family after a fierce battle with cancer. Chris is survived by his wife Kelsey and their two beautiful children, Benjamin (6) and Andie (4). He is also survived by his mother Christine Hansen, siblings Matt Hansen and Danika Reid (Brodie), father and mother in law Mark and Kim Ingram and his brother in laws Jeff Ingram (Blythe) and Jared Ingram (Sajiny). He will be missed by his nephews Landon, Hunter, Krew and Boone and nieces Adelyn and Demi. Chris is predeceased by his father Erik Hansen.
Chris was born in White Rock, BC and grew up in Cloverdale. Some of his favourite childhood memories were dirt biking, skateboarding and camping.
In 2015 he joined the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and was posted to Williams Lake, BC where he and Kelsey spent five years. In 2020 they relocated to Midway, BC before finally settling in their forever home in Armstrong, BC. Chris served the communities of Williams Lake and Midway with honor, compassion and a true sense of respect and dignity. He truly cared about the people he served.
Chris was a devoted husband, father, friend and coworker. He had an eye for photography and was able to capture memories to last a lifetime. Chris was happiest surrounded by family and friends. He had a zest for life and loved a good pun and dad joke. He will be remembered for his crazy sense of humor, his cupcakes, his Christmas light displays and his unwavering support.

Our family would like to express our heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to Chris’ doctors, Dr. Pritchett and Dr. Humphreys and the medical team at both the Vernon and Kelowna Cancer Clinics, as well as the nurses at the North Okanagan Hospice House.

A celebration of life will be held for Chris on December 2, 2023 at the Mirage Banquet Hall, located at 17767 64 Avenue, Surrey, BC. 2:00pm-5:00pm. Due to the large number of people we are expecting, kids will be limited to family only if possible.

Our condolences to Kelsey, Christine, and Family. I was so sorry to learn of Christopher’s passing through the RCMP Vet’s Last Post website. I remember how proud Erik was to tell me that Christopher had joined the RCMP. He had a promising career in the Force that was cut to short.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this most difficult time.

    Thank-you for your service Christopher.

Through our heartache and suffering, I invite all of us to use Chris’ blueprint for life to try to create more good in the world, as he did and would expect us to do. In doing so, we help to keep his legacy alive as a reminder and a beacon of light as we do our best to live without this extraordinary human. He will live in our hearts and memories for eternity.

Love to all of my family. I love you, and I love Chris forever.
