In Loving Memory
Carol Jeanette McKee
Carol Jeanette McKee passed away peacefully at the North Okanagan Hospice House in the early hours of September 6, 2023. She had been diagnosed with cancer late in 2022. Carol was 77 years old.
Carol was a loving and supportive daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her loving husband Dennis McKee, children Pam Loeppky and Dan McKee, brother Wayne Schmidt (Darleen Schmidt), grandchildren Sage Loeppky, Rayne Loeppky, Aysia Loeppky, Dominique Swaby (Nathaniel Swaby), Real-Marc Aubin and her great grandchildren Koah, Kairo and Niko Swaby.
Carol had a full life having lived in many places in Alberta, BC and the USA, as well as “snowbirding” to Arizona for many years finally settling in Vernon, BC. She had a busy life raising a family and having careers as a hairstylist, educator and school librarian. Carol and Dennis travelled to many parts of the world, including Europe, Central America, Australia, Hawaii and North America. Wherever she went she made friends. She had many deep friendships.
Wherever she was and whatever she did, nothing was more important to Carol than her family. She was fiercely proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Carol will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
If you wish to express your condolences through an act of kindness, the family suggests making a donation to the North Okanagan Hospice Society or to your local Hospice Society. Carol (and Dennis)
You bring joy and kindness to everyone you meet.
Both my husband and I were blessed to have had you live in our community a few years ago. I keep close the memory of the laughter emanating from your place and the unreserved welcome to join in.
Thank you.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours, now and always.
Dear Dennis, Pam, Danny and all of your beautiful grandkids and great grands ,
Sending love, hugs and condolences… we are very sad to know Carol has passed but so glad she is no longer suffering . You are so right to say to Carol family was everything… she was so proud of all of you! You were all amazing in the love and care you gave to her. She absolutely loved having all her family and friends there frequently in the last months . On our visit in June the last thing she said to me as I was leaving was “Did you see all the kids pictures in the hallway ? I just love them all ! “ She had so many friends who loved her , including us because of her kindness and big heart . She faced all her health issues with courage and positivity.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you as you grieve .❤️💕
Love,
Sherry and Jack
We are deeply saddened by Carol’s passing. She was always an energetic and happy person to know. Carol willingly listened to her new and old friends and always seemed excited to learn as much as she could about the new people she met and made friends with. It was our pleasure to get to know Carol over the past few years. She will be greatly missed by many, but remembered with a smile because of the joy she gave to all who spent time with her. Rest in Peace dear Carol. May the many memories you have of Carol sustain you in these hard days ahead. ❤️

Sending our condolences to Dennis and family on your great loss. We enjoyed our time in Arizona getting to know Carol and Dennis. Dear Dennis, Pam, Danny, Rayne, Sage, Aysia, and the rest of the family.
Our hearts are heavy with the news of Carol’s passing. We are never prepared for loosing a loved one. We grieve with you all. But what a legacy Carol leaves behind. She will always be present in all our remembrances of her.
We will tell stories, we will laugh and we will cry, but we will remember.
One of my best memories is of Carol teaching us line dancing in Jamaica at Nat and Nique’s Wedding. She had the moves.
Sending all our love, support, and hugs.
