In Loving Memory

Bjorn van Noort

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of our son Bjorn. Bjorn was born in Prince George April 17th, 1993. He completed his primary and secondary education there and then embarked on becoming a Mechanical Engineer Technologist at Okanagan College. He then transitioned to his hands on career in construction and pipelining, living in many communities in BC and Alberta where the work took him.

To know Bjorn, was to know the warmest and kindest of young men, the brightness of the universe, to share in huge belly laughs and to experience the powerful positive energy that radiated from him. He lived life in the moment and his infectious smile would light up any room. He was a loving and wonderful Son, brother, and friend. He was quick witted and never failed to have a great come back. To be in his company was guaranteed many a laugh coupled with intelligent, thoughtful conversation.

As a young boy, he excelled at any sport he tried. Skiing, snowboarding, soccer and track and field. Soccer “the beautiful game” was his passion and brought him much joy. He had a great appreciation for his teammates, his coaches, and the parents, together they built a great team. He continued to play soccer in men’s leagues and enjoyed the challenge.

There are so many wonderful memories that we will be left with. Life can be short and fragile, but in the brief time he was with us, he lived life large and filled our hearts with love.

Bjorn leaves to mourn his passing his parents Ben and Elizabeth, his brother Lex, his Far Mor Janne, Grandparents Leslie and Leona.  His aunts and uncles Tracy and Bob, Tanya and Steve, Les and Anna, Erik and Janelle.  His cousins – Josh, Annelise, Chloe, Karsten, Halen and Alexa. His niece Rose and his godson Rhett.  As well as his extended family and many, many friends that became family. Bjorn was predeceased by his Aunt Inger-Marie and Grandfather Lex.

There will be a Celebration of Bjorn’s life June 17th at the Miworth Hall in Prince George at 1:00 PM.
