In Loving Memory

Barbara Lee Tames

Barb passed away suddenly on November 3, 2025 in Kamloops,BC surrounded by loved ones. Born on  October 5, 1954  in Kamloops, BC to Harvey and Theresa (Connolly) Letous.  She fondly remembered the farm she grew up on in Pritchard with her sisters Jeanne and Lorraine. This is where her love of animals and especially horses began.

She moved to Kamloops began her first job working at Telus until she started her lifelong job at Weyerhouser as a computer data analyist.  During this time she met her husband Les Tames. They  resided together in Brocklehurst when they married on March 24, 1979. They then bought their family home in Noble Creek just outside of Kamloops where they enjoyed a quite life for 46 years.  Her love of animals was shared with her husband. They had many beloved dogs and cats and her pride and joy her beautiful horse Spyder.  Barb enjoyed and attended the much celebrated Kamloops Cattle drive on many occasions.

She retired after over 40 years and kept in touch with many of her co-workers, meeting for lunch regularly and sharing stories.  Barb loved to travel and enjoyed many trips with her sister Jeanne and brother in-law Bill Aten.  Her journeys included travels to China, South Africa, Newfoundland, and lastly a journey by boat through the Central West Coast Islands which ended on Vancouver Island.

Barb loved her community and enjoyed long walks along the roadside sometimes towards Kamloops and sometimes going further out towards Blackpines.  She met many wonderful neighbors and was always picking up and cleaning up along her travels which the entire community admired and appreciated.

She was loved by all her friends and family members.  She was known for her quick mind, incredible knowledge of many subjects and was never one to back down on a good debate.  She was strong willed, very kind and always loved a good story and shared many jokes.  Her laugh and beautiful smile brought joy and a reciprocated smile back to her from anyone who knew her.

Barb is survived by her loving husband Les, her sister Lorraine (John) Vanderveen, brothers and sister in-laws, Gerry (Bev) Tames, Larry (Pat) Tames, Diane (Allan) Fisher, Bonita (John) Anhalt, Julie (Lorne) Dufour and many nieces and nephews, Caroline, Ken, Julie, Amber, Donny ,Debbie, Jeannie, Kim, Kellie, Bonnie, Bobbi, William, Julianne and many great nieces and nephews along with extended family and friends.
