In Loving Memory
Audrey Winifred Jordan
It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of Audrey Jordan on September 20, 2024, in Vernon, BC. She was born in Dagenham, England on November 16, 1929, to parents Richard Thomas and Alice Margaret Jenner. Audrey was the youngest of 4 children.
As a young woman, Audrey trained as a portrait and wedding photographer. It was at a wedding she was photographing that she met her future husband, John Jordan. They married on September 6, 1952, and shortly thereafter they welcomed their children, Penny in October of 1953, and Nick in June of 1955. She volunteered in England for the Citizens Advice Bureau before they emigrated to Canada in March 1975 and settled in Ontario. Audrey then moved to Vernon from Ontario in 1981.
Audrey was an avid reader and enjoyed all sorts of hobbies including sewing her own wardrobe; knitting; gardening in the Okanagan sunshine, especially poppies & roses; and making greeting cards. She was also a phenomenal conversationalist, and her vocabulary and wit are the family heirlooms. In Vernon, she received her 1,000-hour volunteer pin from the Vernon Jubilee Auxiliary where she loved pushing the goodie cart around to all the patients.
Audrey is survived by her children: Penny Latter (Gerard) and Nick Jordan (Bev); grandchildren: Gayle Paquette (Jay), Claire Smith (Jeff), Jon Jordan and Will Jordan (Sarah); great grandchildren: Charlie Jordan, Emily Jordan, Jennifer Paquette, London Jordan and Dutch Jordan.
She is predeceased by her siblings Richard Albert James Jenner, Roy John Jenner and Jacqueline Barbara Jenner.
The family would like to thank all of her Doctors and the Nurses on the 6th floor at VJH, Heron Grove and Pleasant Valley Manor for their kindness and care.
There will be no service at her request.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation (2101 32 Street
Vernon, BC V1T 5L2).

Dear Penny and Nick/families.
My thoughts are with you at this time of your sad loss of your mother Audrey Winifred Jordan.
May her memory long live on and help you all be consoled by comfort you with reflect upon a long life well lived, the happy times shared in comfort of her company.
Her “He/she blotted their copy book – He/she is going to blot their copy book if not careful!” is a comment I most often remember.
Stephen.
